How to Slice a Lemon Properly
Lemons are used in most cold drinks to add flavor and at the same time for garnishing to make the drinks more eye-catching. The most common ways to cut a lemon are the wheel and the wedge.
Here are the steps on how to slice a lemon properly to make a wheel:
1. With the use of a sharp knife and clean cutting board, cut off both the nub ends of the lemon.
2. Cut the lemon in half crosswise
3. Depending on the thickness that you want (it must not be too thin or too thick) continue slicing the lemon crosswise.
4. Continue slicing until all the lemon fruit is cut in circles or wheels as they look like.
And here is how to slice a lemon properly to make wedges.
1. Use a sharp knife and clean cutting board to cut the ends of the lemon.
2. Place the lemon on the cutting board with one of the nub end down so that the lemon is standing vertically.
3. Cut the lemon in half lengthwise.
4. Continue cutting to have at least 8 lemon wedges.
